School Holiday Clinics

A series of clinics have been designed by Dipak Patel to target upgrading basic skills in players of all levels of ability. These clinics will cover all aspects of the game in a fun, fast paced format.

Specialist coaches will share their extensive knowledge through cricket skills games with a lot of fun to be had along the way.

What a great way to spend the school holidays, so bring a friend and enjoy the state of the art facilities at the Howick Pakuranga Cricket Club Training Centre.

Milo Have - A - Go Programme

MILO Have-A-Go Cricket is an introductory programme for 5-8 year old boys and girls. It is designed for beginners and incorporates high participation with skill development. It provides an opportunity to have fun, to learn the fundamental batting, bowling and fielding skills of the game, and to
experience and enjoy New Zealand’s most popular summer sport. It does this through a series of planned sessions in which the children participate
in a variety of activities and modified games.

Here at HPCC we full support this initiative and the programme is integrated into our player development programme focussing on our years 1 to 3 age groups.

Milo Kiwi Cricket Programme

MILO Kiwi Cricket is both a modified introductory version of the game and a skill development programme. It incorporates high participation with the first experience of competition. It provides an opportunity to have fun, to learn and practice the fundamental skills of the game, and to use them each week in a real game situation. It does this through introducing 7-10 year old boys and girls to the game in its simplest form and by reinforcing the essential batting, bowling, fielding and wicket keeping skills developed in MILO Have-A-Go Cricket.

Here at HPCC we full support this initiative and the programme is integrated into our player development programme focussing on our years 3 and 4 age groups.

Year 5 Introduction Hardball Programme

At HPCC we run a very successful and well supported introduction to hardball cricket programme. This is a five week programme conducted by the clubs elite coaches run during June/July each year.

The focus is on ensuring the basic techniques are in place and introducing the players to all the protective equipment and ensuring that their first experience with a hardball is a memorable in a controlled environment.

This initiative has been a great success and the improvement in the participants is very visible compared to those who have not taken part in the programme.
