Coaching

The Howick Pakuranga Cricket Club is committed to developing cricketers of all ages and abilities and helping them to improve their cricket skills.

As such, the club employs experienced, fully qualified coaches to work with players throughout the year. The coaches help run team sessions, holiday programmes, winter training and are available for one-on-one coaching.

Current Coaching Staff:

Director of Cricket         Alan Hunt

Club Coaches                 Rewa Arora and Brian Barnard

Coach Development

Across all of our teams, we want to ensure the best possible experience for our players. This year, we are ensuring that all of our coaches are registered with New Zealand Cricket and have completed suitable coaching qualifications. We will be running Foundation, Advanced Foundation and Level 1 courses throughout the season to ensure that our coaches have all the skills they need to work with their teams.

Additionally, all coaches at the club must complete an Adult Vetting process, to ensure the safest possible environment for all players.

Training sessions will also be held throughout the season for umpires and scorers. These sessions are useful for coaches, players and volunteers to get a better understanding of the rules of the game and how to manage player behavior on the field.
